Methodology

How we find the Goats.

Most "best of" lists rank whoever paid for placement. GoatTechs ranks whoever earned consensus from real users — and we show our work.

The signal sources

For every product we cover, we aggregate sentiment from six community surfaces: Reddit (subreddit threads, weighted by upvote-to-comment ratio), X / Twitter (verified developer accounts), G2 (verified peer reviews), YouTube (long-form reviews from creators with no affiliate ties to the product), TikTok (creator sentiment), and Product Hunt (launch reception adjusted for shipping pulse).

The score

The Goat Score (0.0–10.0) blends a community sentiment composite (60%), a hands-on scorecard from our editors (30%), and a value/longevity adjustment (10%). The full weighting and example calculations live on our open scoring repo.

The editors

GoatTechs is run by a small editorial team of independent product builders. Every review is shipped under the GoatTechs Editors byline; individual contributor profiles ship in our next update.

Affiliate disclosure

Some outbound links from review pages are affiliate links — meaning we may earn a small commission if you sign up after clicking. This never influences the score. We do not accept paid placement, paid reviews, or sponsored sections. Categorically.
